Writing on Medium just doesn’t seem as rewarding as it used to be. I mean that both figuratively and literally. I once made $2700 there in one month. Last month I received around $15. To be fair, I just haven’t been writing there as much but that is partly because it just isn’t what it used to be.
There have been algorithm changes and alterations such as getting a signup percentage if someone joins through your personal link. You can also sign up to read a specific writer – look at mine here. (Pretty please.) In my humble opinion, none of these changes has made the site better.

Some of the above have had over 50,000 reads and a couple made over $1500 each. I just can’t see that happening again. I am still writing on Medium and will continue to do so for a while, it will just be a lot less frequent.
I still make most of my money from journalism, but I am going to try and make a gradual shift to writing fiction. That is the plan. I will post about how it goes here and what I am doing to make it happen. I am thinking things like Wattpad and Patreon and a few others.
So, you’ll still see my writing on Medium – here is my main page – but there is no need to tune in daily. Unless things change there for the better, I think time is better spent elsewhere. Sorry Medium.t
